Aiming to reinforce China’s relations with Italy and the Euro-Mediterranean region more generally, TOChina researchers through T.wai have spearheaded Track 1.5 dialogues with two institutions at the pinnacle of China’s national security and foreign policy systems.
The China Institutes for Contemporary International Relations (CICIR) is the PRC’s foremost think-tank for strategic foresight, with unique competences in European affairs and West Asia & Northern Africa.
The China Center for Contemporary World Studies (CCCWS) is the in-house think-tank of the International Department of the Communist Party of China. It has just started its outreach activities. Dialogues are prepared and run by scholars, but are designed to include senior officials and managers from the corporate sector on both sides, so as to offer an informal opportunity to tackle a wider range of issues than may be possible in institutional contexts.
